Audit log

Also called: Activity log · Audit trail · Event log

An audit log is a time-ordered record of who did what in a system, such as changing settings or members, kept so actions can be reviewed and proven later.

Audit logs answer questions after the fact: who removed this person, who connected that account, when a setting changed. Each entry usually records the actor, the action, the target and the time.

An audit log is only trustworthy if entries can’t be edited or deleted, including by administrators. Export matters too, so the log can be kept with other records or checked by an auditor.

How Risti does it

Risti’s audit log is the Activity log, for owners and admins. It records who did what, whether a person, an app or Risti itself, with filters by who, kind and time, and Export to CSV.

Entries are kept permanently and can’t be edited or deleted. Every change to connected apps is logged there, and API keys can be given the Read the activity log scope.
